
KAMPALA – As Uganda’s general elections draws closer, apparently the ruling party NRM is at less panic for it has already 646 successful candidates pending to take oath.
According to the electoral body, EC, the party has 13 and 7 unopposed House Representatives and District Chairpersons respectively.
The party which has been in power for over 34 years has also got 340 older and PWDS and 254 district councillors. It has also got 52 unopposed district youths councillors.

January 11, 2021: Election of councillors for youths, Councillors for PWDS and Councillors for older persons to sub-county/town/municipal divisions.
January 12, 2021: Election of councillors for youths, Councillors for PWD and Councillors for older persons to municipality/city division.
January 14, 2021: Election of President, Members of Parliament.
January 20, 2021: Election of district local government councils (District/City Chairpersons, Lord Mayors, Mayors and Councillors).
January 25, 2021: Election of Municipality Chairpersons and Councillors
January 27, 2021: Election of Councillors for youths, Councillors for PWD, and Councillors for older persons to the district local government councils
February 3, 2021: Election of sub-county/town/municipal division chairpersons and councillors
