Uganda confirms first COVID-19 case

Uganda has confirmed its first case of coronavirus, the Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng said on Saturday night.

Dr Aceng said the confirmed case is a 36 year old Ugandan male who arrived from Dubai on Saturday 21 March at 2:00am, aboard Ethiopia Airlines

“He is currently under treatment in stable condition, isolated from other patients,” she said.

She explained that patient was identified at Entebbe International Airport and that he was evacuated to Entebbe grade B.

The confirmed case, had traveled to Dubai on the 19 March for business purposes and at the time of his travel, he was in good health.
